First Day with the new camera

As you might have read, Santa Claus stuffed his fat ass down my chimney and blessed me with a new Canon Rebel XS for christmas (I dunno why...I definitely was on the naughty list) but regardless I got one. Super stoked to start working with legit camera after all this time shooting with a small little Lumix. I managed to take it out for a test spin on Sunday at Louis and here are some of the results:

First Day Riding Badlands

So Yesterday I got to have a fun little family ski day for the public holiday. While riding with my family and some old family friends I thought: "wow I can't remember the last time I just rode, not doing laps in the park" so I thought I'd check in and see the good old Badlands. It's got an ok set up right now, everything is set up on the left side of the pipe where the jumps normally are. Set up goes: small towerpole and wide box, then flat rail, wat used to be the K2 flat rail, and a battleship rail, then two medium flat bars, followed by a large jump and a small one. The was practically a blizzard outside for the last half the day, you couldn't even see your next hit, but we had fun just messing around. The drive the way home was impossible and we got stuck in Stayner for the night. Oh the Golden Apple...

Panasonic HVX200

Lee got the Panasonic HVX200 for xmas :O sick shots now...

NEW CAMERA!!!! :)

Boxing day madness presents: a new Canon Rebel XS for David. YAAA! So I know that it'd the basic model in the Canon EOS seires but it's a start. Couldn't beat the boxing day price at Henry's $369.99!!! Definitely a huge step up from the LUMIX I used for so many years and a good step in the right direction. Keep your eyes posted for pics up on facebook soon.

Forgot to Mention

One more thing that took place was Rome Premature Jibulation at Horseshoe. Sick set-up, props to Powling and his park crew. The comp was pretty rad with Jeff Rat and Liam making the finals but not Travis, Richie or me. We all had fun and throw some good tricks down but it wasn't our best for sure. Congrats to Patty H, Mark and Cole for their podium finishes. Some crazy tricks got thrown down in the Open finals. Namely Pat's back 1 on nosepress switch front 3 (and front 1) off, Mark's switch EVERYTHING and crazy switch up everything else. That's some next level shit right there...

Xmas Update

So ya...it's been quite a while since I've said anything and lots has been going down. We've been luckily up in Sudbury and got a lot of snow, which has stoke me up to ride like crazy. Got to go out once while up there, just to hit this little mellow rail. First time on the new Stepchild Latchkey so that was pretty different. Loving it tho, it's got mad flex to it so your gonna see lots of that going down this year. If I can get around to it I'll try to put together a quick and dirty edit of some of the better tricks. The rail was so little it's nothing worth saving but overall a helpful outing. Kinda helped us figure out what kinks we're gonna need to iron out in order to hit some real rails and get better footy. Got stuck in Parry Sound for a night cause of a massive storm, that was pretty gnarly... 120cm of snow over two days and no hill in the area...what a shame *shaking head* Got to ride louis and pick up the pass a couple times. Did a couple days of fun riding and just ripping around, then we got to just doing some no pressure filming in the Junkyard while taking laps. Ending up getting some good trickery and making a fun little edit which will also be posted. I think I'm gonna head north tomorrow and ride Louis again for the next couple days. Peace!
